Cabinet Peaks Medical Center's Paint it Pink Program Receives $10,000 Grant from Glacier Bank

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center's “Paint it Pink” (PIP) program is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a generous $10,000 grant from Glacier Bank, in collaboration with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines). This grant is part of the FHLB Des Moines Member Impact Fund, which has disbursed a total of $190,000 to 17 deserving area nonprofits.

Paula Collins, Coordinator of the PIP program, conveyed her sincere appreciation, saying, "We are profoundly thankful to Glacier Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines for their generous support. This grant will empower us to advance our mission of offering free mammograms to uninsured women in our local area, as well as aiding in the detection of breast cancer for the residents of Lincoln County. With this funding, we can expand our reach to even more individuals in need. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Glacier Bank for their dedication to making a meaningful impact in our community."

The Member Impact Fund, initiated in 2023 with an allocation of nearly $20 million, aims to empower organizations across targeted areas within FHLB Des Moines' district. In 2024, the fund was increased by an additional $10 million, reflecting a commitment to bolster community development initiatives.

Glacier Bank played a pivotal role in facilitating this grant by partnering with eligible nonprofits across their five-county market. Each recipient organization demonstrated a strong mission in promoting affordable housing or community development. Beginning in January, Glacier Bank's dedicated staff provided guidance and support throughout the application process, ensuring that each nonprofit could effectively showcase their need for funding to enhance their capacity or working capital.

In March, the FHLB Des Moines announced a remarkable matching contribution of $3 for every $1 requested by each of the 17 nonprofits, amplifying the impact of the grants. Furthermore, Glacier Bank's Montana Divisions advocated for an additional 100 organizations, resulting in a staggering $2,048,600 being distributed statewide to further the cause of affordable housing and community development.

In April, the funds were disbursed, marking the successful realization of the Member Impact Fund's objective: to foster collaboration between financial institutions like Glacier Bank and local organizations, thereby generating enduring value and positive change within our communities.
